New Zealand mare Sunline powered across the BMW Cox Plate finish line seven-lengths clear of the field at Moonee Valley in Melborne yesterday.
The $A2m win lands Sunline in the history books as Australia's biggest stake earner - superceding champions such as Octagonal, Super Impose, Bonecrusher and Rough Habit.
Jockey Greg Childs pulled in from the oustide barrier shortly after the start and stayed tight behind leader The Message until the 800m mark.
Sunline then edged out and took off, streaming ahead of the field who offered no challenge.
Diatribe came in second just ahead of third-placed Referral.
