Area Description:

The Bay of Islands and inshore waters from Cape Brett to the Poor Knights Islands to Bream Head.

Situation:

A ridge lies over the North Island. A northwest flow continues to build over the South Island today ahead of a front which moves up the country on Thursday, followed by strong southwesterlies, easing on Friday.

Wednesday: Variable 5 knots. Northwest 10 knots developing in the afternoon. Sea slight. Fine apart from morning and evening cloud. Northerly swell half a metre or less.

Outlook:

Outlook until midnight Saturday: Thursday: Northerly 10 knots, rising to 15 knots for a time in the afternoon, then turning southwest 15 knots late evening. Mainly fine. Cloud developing in the evening. Northerly swell half a metre or less. Friday: Tending southerly and rising to southerly 20 knots in the morning, easing to 15 knots in the evening.
