Marine Recreational Forecasts - Christchurch

Area Description:
Christchurch
Situation:
A ridge of high pressure dominates over Aotearoa/New Zealand today and tomorrow. However, a weak trough over the far north moves off the country and a couple of weak fronts brush the lower South Island. On Friday, the high moves slowly away to the east and a series of fronts approach the lower South Island. On Saturday, the fronts move slowly northwards over the South Island, and become slow moving over the Island on Sunday. Meanwhile, an east to northeast flow covers the North Island. A northeast flow covers the country on Monday, while a low pressure system becomes slow moving over the Tasman Sea. A frontal rain band associated with the low may affect the north of the North Island.
