Calltakers' union to meet again with Westpac

Westpac and bank officers' union Finsec will meet again tomorrow to discuss a collective agreement offer for telephone staff.

"We believe some progress has been made," Finsec's Bella Pardoe said in a statement.

"It seems the bank has heard concerns expressed by Finsec members in their recent industrial action."

The union hoped for a revised offer.

Almost 70 calltakers in Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch walked off the job for a day earlier this month over working conditions.

They wanted a change from rotating to fixed hours of work and hours reduced from 40 a week to 37.5, the same as other Westpac workers, Ms Pardoe said in a statement.

A Westpac spokesman confirmed to NZPA today that a meeting was scheduled for tomorrow.
