Hellaby Holdings subsidiary Brake and Transmission will acquire Autolign, a supplier of steering and transmission products, for between $2.5 million and $3 million.
The acquisition will help lift Brake and Transmission's revenue by around 20 per cent per year and bring specialist knowledge to a growing part of the company's business, says the managing director of Hellaby, David Houldsworth.
Brake and Transmission imports and distributes undercar accessories. It is involved in a small way in the same products as Autolign. "With the acquisition, we will gain a strong product range and expertise," Mr Houldsworth said.
The purchase will multiply by three to four times the company's trade in the steering and transmission products.
Autolign distributes premium brand steering and suspension products. These are sold through its network of workshops, regional distributors and 25 franchise shops. Autolign will retain its identity and operate as a division of Brake and Transmission.
