SYDNEY - The final 7000 tickets for Sunday's National Rugby League (NRL) grand final between West Tigers and the North Queensland Cowboys sold out in less than 40 minutes on Monday, the NRL said.
The Tigers surprised competition favourites St George-Illawarra 20-12 on Saturday, while outsiders North Queensland humiliated regular season top qualifiers Parramatta 29-0 on Sunday.
Fans began queuing for the final tickets early on Sunday afternoon, the NRL said on their website. The first 1500 tickets sold in less than five minutes when the ticket office opened at 9am.
Just under 3000 tickets were sold in 10 minutes with the remainder for Sunday's match at Sydney's Olympic Stadium sold before 9.40am.
