Medal update:
Gold 2 Silver 17 Bronze 6
The two medals from day eight move New Zealand's tally to 25 for the Games, six behind the team total four years ago. The 17 silver medals however are the most won by a New Zealand team. The biggest shock on the table is that Samoa have jumped ahead of New Zealand after winning two gold medals overnight.

What to watch for - Day 9:
Kiwis in action schedule

Medal hopes
Two of New Zealand's gold medallists from four years ago look to go back-to-back later tonight. Nick Willis will defend his 1500m title at 1.50am while the sevens team are a chance to reach the final and win a fourth sevens' gold at 1.15am.

Netball:
The Silver Ferns will be out to avoid an upset and book a place in the final when the play Jamaica tonight (10.20pm).

Hockey:
Meanwhile the New Zealand men's hockey team looking to cause an upset of their own when they take on World Cup champions Australia (6.20pm).

Rugby sevens:
It's finals day in the rugby sevens starting with the quarterfinals at 4.20pm and the final at 1.10am.

Athletics:
Adrian Blincoe will join Willis on the start line of the 1500m final while Stuart Farquhar is a medal chance in the javelin final (from 1.15am).
