A woman accused of running over a man before fleeing the scene and driving the vehicle into the Waikato River has appeared in court.
The 44-year-old Hamilton woman, who has name suppression, made a brief appearance at the High Court in Hamilton this morning to face a charge of attempted murder.
She is yet to enter a plea.
The charge relates to an incident in Hamilton on Sunday that left a man with serious injuries.
The woman must undergo a psychiatric assessment, and will reappear before the court tomorrow.
