Every morning for the past few weeks, I've arrived at work to see a shopping trolley full of groceries provided by staff and subscribers still filling up. Staff invite the public to help contribute to the foodbank so families will be able to celebrate the festive day.
Just drop in with your non-perishables or toys.
Beside the trolley is a Christmas tree and slowly presents are filling the space beneath it.
It's so awesome to see people do care.
Then, as for the past 12 years, the Room at the Inn Community Christmas Lunch offers a place for the lonely and disenfranchised to gather and celebrate together.
Every year, a group of people, with the help of volunteers, cook a slap-up Christmas meal and offer space so everyone can enjoy a meal and fellowship.
This year, businesses in the community have provided organisers with enough money to buy presents for the children and ensure this year's event is a complete success again. Some have gifted toys - others' food - others' money.
This is the true spirit of Christmas - people giving to the less fortunate whether it be time, presents or food.
Look over the fence and see if your neighbour needs support. This is why Masterton has become our home - it's such a supportive community.
