Police warn of motorway delays after ute flips

Motorists on Auckland's motorway network are being warned to expect delays after a crash near Drury this afternoon.

Southbound lanes were closed just north of the Drury off-ramp after a ute and a 2-axle trailer flipped at 3.30pm.

The sole occupant in the ute was not injured.

One lane now remains closed between Drury and Papakura.

A police spokesman said the scene was difficult to clear because of the large amount of timber on the trailer.

They are waiting on a truck with a Hiab crane to clear the scene.

Meanwhile, two people have also been seriously injured after a motorcycle crash in Titoki, west of Whangarei, just after 3pm.

One of the injured people had life-threatening injuries and a rescue helicopter was on its way.

The police serious crash unit is investigating.
