A Skywire ride near Nelson will not operate for at least another two weeks.
A spokesman from the Cable Bay business, Happy Valley Adventures, said engineers had examined the ride after two tourists were left dangling high above the ground and had to be rescued by helicopter when it malfunctioned last week.
The Skywire, which opened less than a month ago and cost more than $1 million to design and build, features a four-person open chair. Thrill-seekers are strapped in before travelling 150m at speeds of between 100km/h and 120km/h down the wire into a valley. It costs $85 a ride.
