A broken light over a production line has forced one of the country's biggest drink-makers to recall 6000 bottles of juice.
Frucor Beverages has announced the recall of 29 pallets of juice because they might contain glass.
The affected drinks are 3-litre bottles of "Just Juice Tropical," "Citrus Tree Orange Original" and "Orange Calcium."
Frucor chief executive Carl Bergstrom said no complaints had been received from the public, nor had anyone so far found glass in the bottles.
A decision was made to recall the drinks after bottles that were not supposed to be sent out to stores were somehow delivered.
They had been put aside after a light had broken over the production line late last year.
Mr Bergstrom said while 6000 bottles sounded like a lot, it was less than one-fifth of 1 per cent of a month's production.
Most of the bottles would have been sold at supermarkets over the past month, but some had also gone to smaller shops and dairies.
The company was investigating how the juice had got on to the market and would take every step necessary to make sure it did not happen again.
Those who think they may have one of the bottles should ring the Frucor inquiry number set up for the recall. It is 0800-502-929.
In another product recall, a range of baby dummies, or pacifiers, have been taken off New Zealand shelves after fears that a manufacturing fault could be a choking hazard.
Nearly 4000 "Tommee Tippee decorated silicon comforters" are being recalled because the fault means the nipple could split.
The dummies have been sold mainly through KMart and The Warehouse stores.
Ceser Esterman, a spokesman for the company that sells Tommee Tippee goods, said he suspected most of the dummies would still be on the shelves.
The dummies feature a prominent picture on the shield, one with a yellow duck, the other with an orange tiger. The shields are either translucent blue or green.
