An Iraqi lawyer who helped the United States find and rescue Army Private First Class Jessica Lynch, held prisoner in an Iraqi hospital, has been granted asylum in the US.
The lawyer, his wife and their daughter were granted asylum in Arlington, Virginia.
The lawyer, known only as Muhammad, reportedly walked several kilometres to reach US Marines, and drew a map to help them find 19-year-old Lynch, who was rescued on April 1.
