Slogans clue at metro fire

A small fire broke out in one of Milan's main metro stations yesterday when a 30kg gas cylinder was set alight.

Police said they found a cloth sheet scrawled with Islamic slogans nearby.

The blaze closed the busy Duomo station below Milan's huge gothic cathedral, where two of the city's three underground lines meet.

Police said a cloth found nearby said in Italian: "We will fight for the cause of Allah and we will not stop until you submit and worship the one and only God, Allah". It also had "Allah is Great" written in Arabic.
