Army-style weapons used in Papua attack

Indonesian police say forensic tests on ammunition used in the fatal shootings of two American teachers and an Indonesian in Papua showed that military-issue weapons were used in the attack.

But deputy Papua police chief Brigadier General Raziman Tarigan denied a report that soldiers from the Army's Kostrad strategic reserve division allegedly carried out the shootings.

He said that what was clear was that the weapons - an M16 machine gun, an SS1 rifle and a Mauser rifle - were used by Kostrad in the area.
