Swedish soccer strikers Hanna Ljungberg and Victoria Svensson have turned down the chance to become the first women to play in Italy's Serie A.
Perugia president Luciano Gaucci had hoped to complete a female signing during January's transfer window, but his efforts have been in vain.
"I find it difficult to see what I can to do in a men's team," Svensson said.
