The Brisbane Broncos jumped to the top of the NRL standings with a comfortable 28-14 victory over Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium last night.
The Broncos scored five tries to two. Their win took them to 21 points for the season, two ahead of the Bulldogs who play the Rabbitohs tomorrow.
Brisbane, who led 6-2 at halftime, went into the match without nine Origin stars and missing other first graders through injury.
Wests coach Terry Lamb will not be happy with the performance of his side, who have now lost four straight games.
Referee Tim Mander placed three players on report. Ahmad Bajouri and Willie Manu were reported for lifting in the tackle in separate incidents and Brisbane forward Nathan Friend earned Mander's wrath for allegedly kneeing Darren Senter in the 26th minute.
