Rugby: Kiwi flavour to University fixture

The annual match between Oxford and Cambridge Universities, one of English rugby's oldest fixtures, will have a distinctly Kiwi feel about it, with both teams for next Tuesday's Twickenham showpiece captained by New Zealanders.

Otago's Duncan Blaikie, 27, a flanker who has played for the Chiefs in the Super 12, captains Cambridge in what will be his second appearance in the varsity match.

Former New Zealand Barbarian Fraser Gemmell, 24, a loose forward and son of Bruce, who won two All Black caps in the 1970s, leads Oxford as the 'Dark Blues' go in search of a fourth straight victory.

In a fixture dating back to 1872, Cambridge have won 57 matches compared with Oxford's 51 with 13 draws.
