Tickets for the National Bank Cup netball semifinal between Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic and Auckland-based Force in Tauranga on Sunday sold out within hours of going on sale.
About 1400 people will fill the venue for what will be a repeat of last year's semifinal.
It's the third time Magic have qualified
for the semifinals but they have yet to advance to a final.
Magic franchise business manager, Netball Bay of Plenty's Sheryl Dawson, said demand for tickets to Sunday's semifinal had been unprecedented.
She said fans who were queued outside Netball Bay of Plenty's office in Tauranga on Monday morning were followed by a steady stream of supporters until tickets sold out at 11am.
Supporters from the rest of the Magic's franchise region and from the Force area bought tickets over the phone.
"The interest in this game has been unbelievable," Dawson said.
"My phone started ringing at 6am on Monday with people asking when and where tickets would be on sale. Our office at Bayfair said they had queues as well. This is unprecedented."
Magic coach Nicole Dryden was rapt with the interest show in Sunday's match, saying it reflected the squad's early success.
