Cycling: Anxious wait for Peden

The Anthony Peden drugs drama looks set to take some time.

The New Zealand cyclist never competed in Athens after admitting taking a banned substance as pain relief, at the advice of a German doctor.

Bike NZ boss Rodger Thompson says it is a complicated process, and it is difficult to make any progress on the case with so many people still their way back from Athens.

Thompson says they are working with their legal advisers to decide the appropriate course and they are waiting for the likes of Barry Maister and Bike NZ personnel to return so they can establish the facts.

He says they are hoping to do that in face-to-face meetings next week.
