Bowls New Zealand has lost a popular administrator with the death of Don Manson after a long illness, aged 63.
A member of the Milford Bowling Club, Manson was part of the taskforce which played a key role in bringing the administration of the men's and women's associations together. He was a board member of the sport's governing body, World Bowls, as well as being a senior figure in industry.
As recently as August, Manson was in Manchester for a World Bowls meeting at the same time as the Commonwealth Games.
Manson, who died of cancer, is survived by his wife Margaret and their three children.
