A house has been badly damaged by fire in Westport this morning.
The Fire Service got a call about the blaze in Brougham Street around 5am.
Shift manager Andrew Norris said three fire trucks from Westport and Waimangaroa put out the fire wearing breathing gear.
Norris said the fire was out and they're waiting for the fire investigators.
The cause is not yet known and no one was inside at the time.
