Wellington school top famine fundraiser

Wellington College has edged past Auckland's St Kentigern College to become New Zealand's biggest fundraiser for the World Vision 40-Hour Famine.

The Wellington school raised $72,424 by holding a 40-hour runathon at the Basin Reserve in March, surpassing the Aucklanders' efforts by $200. The famine is expected to raise $3 million.
