Dead motorcyclists named

Police have released the names of two motorcyclists who died in separate crashes yesterday.

John Kevin Curtin, aged 52, of Hastings, was killed when he hit a power pole in Flaxmere.

Dennis Ernest Upson, aged 46, died after falling off his 50cc motorbike in central New Plymouth.

There were two other fatalities on New Zealand roads at the weekend. Two Whangarei women died when their car collided head-on with a truck on State Highway 1 south of the city. The victims were Dorothy Meredith, aged 78, and her daughter Julie Eilering, 53.
