New Zealander Richard Gates has resigned as chief executive of Samoa's Government-owned Polynesian Airlines.
Gates held several Air New Zealand management posts, including director of public affairs, before taking up the top PAL role in 1994.
Gates told the Herald yesterday that he was coming back to New Zealand to be closer to his family.
"I think it's time for a change," he said. "It has been a hectic eight or nine years."
