New US x-ray machines destroy film

Photographers beware: new, more powerful x-ray machines being used at most American airports to screen checked luggage for explosives will ruin undeveloped photos.

The best advice: do not pack film - or disposable cameras - in your suitcase. Put these in your carry-on bag and ask screeners at the passenger security checkpoints in the airport to inspect your camera and film by hand.
