The Brisbane Broncos today said half-back Brett Seymour will be allowed to play this weekend despite being questioned by police over an alleged assault at a Brisbane hotel.
Police investigations are continuing today into separate incidents involving two high-profile Broncos players.
Detectives have received a formal complaint from a woman who claims she was assaulted by a player near a cab rank outside a Brisbane nightclub on Friday night.
The woman allegedly suffered minor injuries in the incident.
The case follows confirmation that Seymour was questioned by police over a separate alleged assault at Toowong's Regatta hotel in the early hours of Monday morning.
Two women lodged an official complaint against Seymour on Tuesday.
No charges have been laid in relation to either incident.
Broncos managing director Bruno Cullen said the National Rugby League (NRL) club was also conducting its own internal investigations.
"He's [Brett Seymour] been interviewed by the police and the police haven't charged him, so where it stands at the moment is that's the status quo," Mr Cullen said.
"But our position may change and the two things that would make it change would be if our own investigation brings up something that needs to be addressed, or alternatively the police lay charges."
Mr Cullen said Seymour would be allowed to line up for the Broncos' feeder club, the Toowoomba Clydesdales, this weekend.
