Rugby league: ARL pick up tab for dirty boots

The Australian Rugby League has promised to pick up fullback Darren Lockyer's $200 fine for having dirty football boots.

Lockyer was slapped with the Customs fine when he and the Kangaroos arrived at Wellington Airport on Tuesday for tomorrow night's one-off test. He failed to declare dirt on his boots to an inspector and was charged with breaching the Biosecurity Act.
