Rugby: John O'Neill honoured by Australia

John O'Neill was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia yesterday for his services to rugby, to the financial sector and for community service in a range of educational and charitable organisations.

The former Australian Rugby Union boss had presided over the sport's most successful period in the country, taking the body from the brink in 1995 to the enviable position of having a A$45 million ($50 million) war chest after the World Cup last year.
