Rugby: Ireland toil for win against Romania

Ireland laboured to an uninspiring 39-8 victory over Romania in a one-off rugby test at Thomond Park, Limerick, yesterday.

The home side, using the match as a test before their World Cup qualifier in Russia this month, ran in four tries in a one-sided first half to lead 32-3 at the interval but added only seven points in the second period as the Romanians came back strongly.
