Horse Racing: Stylish filly Pick Six sweetheart

The scratching of Classy Filly looks to have provided Pick Six punters with an anchor at Alexandra Park tonight.

Last season's Two-Year-Old Filly of the Year has been solid without being spectacular in her two runs in the north so far this campaign.

But her run on Tuesday night suggested she was coming back to her best.

That best would have been good enough to test Stylish Sweetheart when the pair clashed in the Coca Cola Mobile, the third leg of Pick Six.

But trainer Cran Dalgety pulled Classy Filly out of the race yesterday and has paved the way for Stylish Sweetheart to score the eleventh win of her career.

Stylish Sweetheart overcame a second line draw to beat a better field than this here last start and driver Tony Herlihy should be able to find the lead quickly with the giant filly.

From there the race should be for second as Stylish Sweetheart has already recorded a sub 2:45 time for the mobile 2200m, an effort that would have most of her rivals here gasping.

The big improver tonight could be southern filly Emerald Franco, who only battled in her northern debut last start but should be much better for that effort.
