Frenchman Noan Lelarge was sacked from his Bonjour team yesterday after testing positive for a banned steroid during the Giro d'Italia.
A Bonjour team source at the Tour de France said the rider's urine sample had been given on May 28.
Bonjour were in Dunkirk yesterday for the first stage of the Tour, an 8.2km prologue which was won by Christophe Moreau of France.
Lelarge is not part of the Bonjour team on the Tour which is being run under a shadow since the discovery of drugs during raids on team hotels in the Giro. Italian magistrates have the task of investigating more than 60 riders.
Tour de France organisers said last month that they would bar any cyclist found guilty of doping in the Italian investigation.
