Handball: Sri Lankan squad vanishes

The Sri Lankan women's handball squad has disappeared and is believed to be travelling to France to seek political asylum.

The 23 Sri Lankans left a letter in the German music hall where they were staying, saying they could not return to their homeland and were going to France.

The group, who were due to stay in Germany for three weeks, evidently left in a hurry as they left shoes and clothes behind them.
