Auckland have dominated with the majority of junior and veterans titles being won by the big city players.
Auckland looked on target to capture all 10 of the junior titles until the last final when Canterbury's Jenny Hung scored a five set victory in the girl's 18s singles final over Sophie Shu to prevent an Auckland whitewash. The other big upset was the progress of Waikato's Jonathan Wang in the 18s boys singles. Wang defeated several higher ranked players on his way to the final including Auckland's Terry Zeng in five sets in the semis before eventually going down to Steven Zeng in the final in straight sets.
Senior individual finals will be held on October 6.

Leanne Baker and Sacha Jones have scored good wins in their respective professional events and the United States and Mexico. Waikato's Baker beat second seed, Rosana De Los Rios 4-6 6-3 6-4 in the second round at the US$50,000 Ashland ITF event in Kentucky. The Paraguay player is ranked at 136 while Baker entered the tournament at 289.In the quarters Baker will face former top-20 player, American Alexandra Stevenson who the Kiwi No2 defeated in straight sets earlier this year in another tournament. Meanwhile, 16-year-old Jones has won her way into the quarters at the US$25,000 ITF Challenger at Juarez, Mexico. Jones defeated local player Daniela Munoz-Gallegos 6-3 6-4 in the second round and will now see her WTA pro ranking go inside the top-400 from its current place of 415. New Zealand No1 Dan King-Turner has lost in the quarter-finals at the second week of US$15,000 Futures at Nottingham in England. King-Turner, ranked at a career-high 318 beat Brit Miles Kasiri 6-4 6-2 in the second round but lost to Austrian third seed Martin Fischer 6-3 7-6(7) in the quarters. King-Turner and Australian doubles partner Rameez Juniad won their first round contest beating Daniel Cox and Josh Milton 6-2 6-0 and have reached the semis after beating another local pair Chris Priddle and Harry Skinner 6-1 6-4.
