LAHORE - Pakistan's pace battery ran through the Indian top-order overnight, putting the hosts on course for a series-levelling victory in the second test.
India were left struggling at 149-5 after the third day, opener Virender Sehwag fighting a lone battle on 86 not out, after Pakistan had taken a 202-run
first innings lead because of a fighting 73 by left-hander Asim Kamal.
Sehwag struck 14 fours in his sixth test half-century but wickets tumbled at the other end as Aakash Chopra (five), Rahul Dravid (nought), Sachin Tendulkar (eight), Vangipurappu Laxman (13) and Yuvraj Singh (12) fell in quick succession.
Wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel was unbeaten on a dogged 13 with India, who were bowled out for 287 in the first innings, still needing 53 to make Pakistan bat again after the home side were bowled out for 489.
India lead the three-match series 1-0 after winning the first test at Multan by an innings and 52 runs. They are on their first full tour of Pakistan in over 14 years.
