Cricket: Future of MCG one-day matches in doubt

The Australian Cricket Board said yesterday that the future of the MCG as a one-day cricket venue was in jeopardy because of crowd trouble.

ACB chief executive James Sutherland said the ground was now rated among the worst three in the world for crowd trouble.

The ACB, police and the Melbourne Cricket Club have urged fans to behave themselves at Sunday's one-day match between Australia and England.

Tough security measures include an increased police presence, thorough bag searches and more dry areas.
