Keen walkers are being urged to join the Eketahuna community on Sunday, March 20, to celebrate 100 years of the cliff walk.
The first Eketahuna mayor and mayoress, Edward and Maud Page, officially opened the walk in 1911, and Eketahuna Our Town Committee member Margaret Parsons said a community walk would
be "a nice way to celebrate".
Walkers are to meet at the giant kiwi by the information centre at 1.30pm to join the cliff walk, then carry on along to the camping ground and down Stanley St.
"It's a beautiful walk and we're asking walkers - anybody from anywhere - to join us," said Mrs Parsons. "There is also an Easter egg hunt on the way for those with a sweet tooth."
She said there was "always work being done on the walk to keep it looking beautiful. The grass is always kept down and the trees are lovely and shady."
Organiser Terry Carew said walkers could also enjoy all Eketahuna had to offer after the walk, by popping down to Mount Bruce to see the new Kiwi House and visiting the local galleries, the museum and the Middleton Model Railway.
