Waikato man wanted over serious assault

Police are hunting for a 29-year-old man in relation to a serious assault near Hamilton.

He is Jayde William Charles Higgins - a caucasian man of medium build who is about 180cm tall.

Hamilton Detective Paul van der Zee said police were seeking the public's help in finding Mr Higgins but warned that he should not be approached.

Arrest warrants have been issued in relation to breaching community work, bail conditions and driving while disqualified, Mr van der Zee said.

Police also wanted to speak to Higgins about a serious assault on a man in Glenview in May.

It is understood Higgins has contacts throughout Hamilton.

"Given the severity of the alleged assault police warn people not to approach him but, if seen, ring 111," Mr van der Zee said.

Anyone with information on Mr Higgins' location was asked to contact the Hamilton Central Police Station on 07 858 6200 or anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
