Wine lovers take your marks. Toast Martinborough 2009 tickets go on sale on Wednesday and you best be quick.
Event general manager Rachael Fletcher said only 10,000 tickets for the annual vineyard spectacular next year will be put up for grabs from 9am on Wednesday at $60 each and will sell
out in mere minutes especially since there are no outlet sales.
"Wine lovers need to be in quick, as they will be snapped up fast. It took less than 20 minutes last year, and 2009 could be even faster," she said.
Ms Fletcher said Toast Martinborough brings together "the unbeatable combination of premium wines, outstanding food and great music". Tickets are available online at www.ticketmaster.co.nz or 0800 111 999. No outlet sales.
"New season's wines will be released and the signs are all pointing towards an excellent vintage. There will also be selected sold-out wines that have been kept back especially for Toast Martinborough so some superb wine tasting will be on offer.
"Each winery creates its own style, combining wine, food and music for a brilliant day out in the boutique Martinborough Wine Village."
She said some of the region's best are cooking up their specialties alongside culinary creations from prominent Wellington restaurants like Pravda, Shed 5 and Chameleon
Music will again cap the day at the 10 participating vineyards with performances from artists including The Warratahs, The Beat Girls, Nairobi Trio and Rhombus.
With only 10,000 tickets available, festival-goers will be spread out around the 10 winery sites so it will be very civilised without a squeeze except maybe at the Beat Girls final performance at Palliser Estate at the end of the day
The free Vodafone TXT Alert Service available by texting Toast Martinborough to 787 will keep Vodafone customers up to date with the latest information on bands, tickets, the weather and other details about the festival
