Teen whose bottle hit tourist sentenced

A bottle hurled from a car that injured a Swiss tourist was not thrown deliberately, a judge said yesterday.

Aaron Shaun Pulley, 19, an apprentice butcher, was sentenced in Rangiora District Court to 175 hours' community work and told to pay the woman he hit $1500 compensation.

Judge Edward Ryan said while hitting the woman was unintentional, it was a disgraceful performance.
