THE furniture was on its way out yesterday, but former NZ First list MP Edwin Perry is staying put. Mr Perry was dispatching chairs,tables and other odds and sods supplied for his Bannister Street office by Parliamentary Services back to Wellington but the office will stay open, manned by him and his brother Owen. The Perry brothers will run a property developing business from the office, and keep it open as a NZ First office also. Edwin Perry intends to stand for Parliament again and said that he will also be lobbying for a much higher spot on the party's list than he ranked last time. On percentage terms his vote was the second highest in the country, behind party leader Winston Peters, and he said he expects to be included in the first " five or six" on the list, not in 12th spot as was the case this year.
