When you're travelling along the Waikato Expressway and you have cars with trailers and truck and trailer units overtaking you when you're travelling at 100km/h and they go past two police officers on the side of the road, I think that the police need to look at that as it is 10km/h over the limit.

Ports of Auckland has done a wonderful thing by freshly painting the red fence along the wharf. It looks so much better shiny and new. Thank you. Thumbs up to the two hardworking men who were wielding paint brushes in the heat of a classic summer's day to get it done! And, a polite nudge to the manager who needs to agree to do the rest of it, please.

To the cafe owners of Auckland, please spare a thought for the little ones who use your highchairs. We rarely come across a highchair which doesn't look filthy or isn't still caked in the previous occupant's dried-up food slops. Who knows what unseen nasties are lurking -- please, clean your highchairs!

Damsel in distress rescued. The age of chivalry is not dead. Many thanks to the three young workmen outside Auckland Grammar who pushed my car around the corner into Clive Rd when it suddenly seized up on Mountain Rd. The AA arrived promptly in answer to my distress call -- they're always a welcome sight, so thanks to them, too.

I forgot to pay my toll for the Northern Toll Road last week, so I decided to go online to try to pay it. I understand that they will add a fee for being late, but apparently I can no longer pay at all using their website unless I have a special code from a letter I must now wait to receive. What purpose does this serve? It seems as though they are making it deliberately difficult.

To all those involved with building and maintaining the BMX track at Lloyd Elsmore Park in Pakuranga, many thanks for your hard work. My grandson had a very enjoyable couple of hours there. Only in New Zealand would a great facility like this be open to the public.
