Police called to Mac-attack

Staff at a McDonald's fast-food outlet are being investigated after a fight that left two customers battered and bleeding.

One of the men is seriously ill in Auckland Hospital with swelling to the brain and a broken collar-bone.

Witnesses, police and McDonald's staff have conflicting versions of the fight, which took place early on Saturday at a branch on the corner of Great South Rd and Green Lane East.

A policewoman said two drunk and disorderly men were escorted from McDonald's by a staff member.

Two other staff members somehow got involved and two men were assaulted. The staff members had left when police arrived.
