People ignore rogue geyser warning signs

People are ignoring warning signs and safety barriers for a closer glimpse of Rotorua's newest rogue geyser.

Thirteen days ago, the geyser burst through a Maori cooking pit on the banks of the Puarenga Stream at Ngapuna, spewing steam and mud 100m into the air.

Barricades were erected around the 10m crater.

But footprints inside the barriers show that geyser-gazers are ignoring signs and putting themselves at risk.
