One fire engine remains at a large house fire in Greenhithe, Auckland.

A Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said earlier today that seven fire engines were called to the two-storey house fire at 11.25am.

"The fire was located on the second floor and in the roof of the house," he said.

By 7.30pm, one fire engine remained damping down areas of the fire.

A spokesman said extensive damage to the house had resulted from the fire.

Two people at the scene were treated by St John for heat exhaustion.

No cause has been determined yet.
