A man has been charged after another man was stabbed in the Auckland suburb of Otahuhu.

Police and emergency services were called to at Marjorie Jayne Cres about 1.10am. yesterday

Police said today that a 50-year-old man has since been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He appeared in the Manukau District Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody until he reappears in court at the end of the month.


The victim, who was initially taken to hospital in a critical condition, is now in a serious but stable condition.

Authorities praised members of the public who had contacted police working on the investigation.

The circumstances of the stabbing are not yet known.

However, police confirmed the men knew each other and they are not looking for anyone else.
