A teenager charged with the serious assault of an elderly Christchurch man has been remanded in custody today.
Resham Toa Blake-Faatafa is accused of attacking a 72-year-old man at New Brighton Mall in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The victim was taken to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Blake-Faatafa, of Avondale in Christchurch, appeared from custody at Christchurch District Court today facing two counts of causing grievous bodily harm.
A duty lawyer said he was not seeking bail and would not be entering pleas today.
