Simone Crowe, the former wife of New Zealand cricketer Martin Crowe, was named as the victim in an assault charge called in the Queenstown District Court yesterday.
A Queenstown man alleged to have assaulted her on January 1 had his named suppressed when he appeared before Judge Peter Butler.
Defence counsel Kevin Phillips claimed Simone Crowe had broken into the man's house on "one or two occasions".
The man was remanded to reappear on March 8.
