Man in serious condition after stabbing

A Northland man is in a serious condition in Whangarei Hospital today after he was stabbed several times in what was believed to be a domestic related incident.

Police were called to a Paihia house at 12.20am today, police said.

Police Senior Sergeant Andy Brill said the stabbed man was taken to Whangarei Hospital where he was in a serious condition.

"Another male person is assisting police with their inquiries at Paihia," Mr Brill said.
