Instant Kiwi age rises

The legal age for buying Instant Kiwi is to increase from 16 to 18 on July 1, with buyers and sellers liable for prosecution if the law is broken.

At present only sellers are liable.

After July 1 the Gambling Act will also make it illegal to buy tickets on behalf of an under-18-year-old, and no one will be able to pay out a prize to anyone under 18.

The new act does not restrict the age of Instant Kiwi sellers.
